Meet The Poncho Girl
I started tie dyeing several years ago and I have been hooked on the craft ever since. In 2010, I incorporated Shibori which is a Japanese form of tie dye. Shibori incorporates dyeing cloth with a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, capping or compressing it. When I discovered Shibori, a whole new world opened up for me. The possibilities are endless!
I love the art of tie dye because you never know what you are going to get in the end. I can start out one way and end up going in a totally different direction but the end result is still beautiful. Each piece is definitely unique and very hard to duplicate. I have spent countless days and nights on projects and never get tired of it. This is truly a passion for me.
Over the years my friends and family have encouraged me to share my gift. In 2013, Big Boned, Inc. was born offering one of a kind, hand-dyed apparel. The Poncho Girl, launched in 2014 is the first line under Big Boned, Inc. Each piece is an original and will not be duplicated. Some have asked why I won't consider mass production of the line. The answer is simple….we are all originals and can’t be duplicated and neither will my tops. Who wants to see themselves walking down the street? Smile…..
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Don’t forget to like The Poncho Girl on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
Peace and Blessings!
